Give-and-take leopard

A new element at my school is a cabinet half the school are walking by when going to the school canteen, and it is called "the give-and-take cabinet". There you can leave things you don't want anymore and believe someone else will find any interest in, but also pick up whatever you want. A few weeks ago, when I saw this cabinet for the first time, guess what I found? A gorgeous turquoise nail polish! Of course I had to bring it home, and I am very glad I did.

The colour 44 from Claudia Cosmetics is a nice creme that probably covers in two coats, but I used a third one just to be on the safe side. The formula was great and even though the brush was much shorter then what I am used to the application went smooth. The shade actually leans a lot more towards green in person than what are shown in these photos, but it is pretty this way too, haha. To spice it up a little I did a simple leopard pattern on top of it.

Neon highlights

Hello people! Lately I've seen a lot of people in the nail community using "normal" pens, i.e. that isn't made to be used for nail art, and with really cool and different resluts. Of coure I want to try it out for myself, but I don't have any promarkers or similar, so I looked through my drawers and found some highlighters! And here we have the result. Not the pretties design I've done but it is really different and new, so I am happy with these nails. The colours, and especially the yellow, is much ligher and more neon in person, but unfortunately that didn't transfer to the photos. Base is My Boyfriend Scales Walls by OPI.

What do you guys think about using everyday objects for nail art? :)

Candy Colour Blocking

Hi lovely readers, how's it going? After an intense nail art fashion week with five manicures in five days, it was kind of hard for me to 'reload' and come up with something by myself. But here I am with a new pair of nails to show you! It's been some time since I did colour blocking so I grabbed my striping tape and two gorgeous polishes and got started!

I just love these colours together so much! Despite them being from completely different brands and seasons, they fit really well together. They've got the same kind of shimmer and gloss that makes me think of some type of candy, hence the title of this post! :) The orange is Orange You Hot? from China Glaze (bottle shown in the picture above) and the pinkish red is Stand Out by Lumene.

#NAFW2015 - Nail Art Fashion Week

Click the image to get to my Instagram where you also can see the pics in full size

If you are an active user of Instagram you probably haven't missed that the past week has been the official Nail Art Fashion Week for fall 2015! I first read about it at Bella's (seizethenail) blog, and thought it sounded so much fun! I've personally had some troubles with inspiration for the past weeks so this was a great event for me! You can find the original post here if you want more info. If you missed it I've herad there's a new chance in September later this year!

Due to lack of time I only participated five out of seven days, but I am still very happy with the week. Above you can see all five manicures I did this past week, and I am so pleased with each one of them! I tried out some techniques I've never tried before, like roses or the quilted 3D pattern. I have also challenge myself to do interpretations of a whole different thing like clothes and transfer it into nail art! Lastly I have also gained so many new followers at Instagram, and if any one of you reads this, I just want to thank you and let you know that your support is greatly appreciated!

Archive post: purple leos

Hi there! Archive post once again while I am getting used to my new, short nails. Going thorugh all these old manis that I've never posted or blogged about almost make me miss my square nail shape! I loved it but I also love the one I am rocking nowadays, and I believe that the pointed/almond shape is much easier to maintain when the nails are getting long too. My pointer also get a crazy curve at a certain length, but thankfully isn't that visible with the pointed shape. :)

So this manicure is also from September 2014, actually the very last nails I did before I started the blog. The pretty purple is Eternal Lilac by Maybelline New York and I can't remember which white and black I used since that are shades I changes pretty often. It is topped with OPI's matte top coat.

Archive post: first try with small nail art brush

Hi lovelies! Earlier this week i broke my middle finger nail - on my left hand of course, the one I do my best nail art on and also show on the blog. Whenever this happens (which isn't that very often, thank god) I just feel so unmotivated to do my nails at all. I love to have long nails and I really don't like wearing false nails to get them all to the same length, so my only option left is to file them all down. So now they are nubbins. Real nubbins, so sad. Oh well, I just have to wait some weeks.

Todays post however, is actually from September last year, just a few weeks before I started this blog, so they never got posted! This was my very first try with a tiny nail art brush, which I bought at Born Pretty Store. Far from perfect but pretty good for being my first time, and I really like this pattern. Base is China Glaze I'm With The Lifeguard.

Glam Skull

Hi! I know that I have some mutuals out there, who read my blog and I read yours, and I just want to quickly apologize to you for being absent the past week. I just haven't had any energy to check out or comment any blog, and currently I have about 150 unread posts on Bloglovin', lol. However, I will try to catch up with what I have been missing as soon as possible! Anyway, today I will show you the swatches of the skull-bottled polishes I got last week, from Glam of Sweden. They are all cremes and the bottles are 15ml.

First out we have the blue polish, named 34. Is it just me that don't like it at all when the polishes just have numbers instead of names? It is so hard to remember the numbers and also nail polish names can be really clever or "punny", great for a language geek with a bad sense of humour like me!

Anyway, this is a beautiful creme polish with really nice formula. The brushes of these are a little bit smaller and shorter than the ordinary, but that is not a bad thing, rather that it contributes to a more precise application. The opacity was good and here I have two coats on, even though I could have used a third for complete coverage, but there wasn't any shine-through visible in person.

The purple polish, 35, is a little different from the others due to it containing a subtle pink, purple and blue shimmer, though it is more visible in the bottle than on the nails. The polish also gets a little warmer, pink undertone when applied, as you can see compared to the bottle here above. Overall it is a great polish and is pretty much like 34 in the case of formula and application, this is just a little more opacque and here I have two coats.

Last but not least we have the green polish, which actually is my favourite of these three! This one has the number 03 and is such a gorgeous polish I didn't want to take it off, haha. Great formula and the best opacity of all three, here with two coats just like the others. And hey, a mint-y green that doesn't make me skin look red, all credit to that!
