Zoya Matte Velvet swatches

Hi lovelies! Today I will show you four of my newest polishes, which also is my very first Zoya laquers! They all come from the Matte Velvet Collection of fall 2014, but I am two short from having the whole collection, unfortunately, but I am very pleased with the ones I've got. Let's go!

First out is this deep forestgreen with a subtle silver shimmer, named Veruschka. Really nice formula but the drying time was awful, it simply never dried to completely matte! Being out of matte top coat for the moment I couldn't fix it that way, and after about half an hour of just sitting around waiting for it to dry, I decided to snap my photos anyway. So here it has some shine, but is starting to get matte near the cuticles. Aside from that - lovely polish and shade. Three coats.

Next we have Dovima, which is a black/dark grey polish, also with silver shimmer. Super pretty and fast drying-time. I can imagine this would look fantastic under a glossy top coat or a micro glitter topper such as China Glaze's Fairy Dust or as base to a galaxy design. Two coats.

This is without a doubt my favourite polish in this collection, and have already snatched a place at my all-time-favourite-polishes-list! :) Posh is a stunning, warm red and I felt super fancy wearing it. Fast dry-time, super formula and awesome opacity. I would probably have gotten away with just one coat, but to be on the safe side I added a second one here.

Last out, we have Loredana - a grey with silver shimmer. I didn't really get any photos of this polish that I was really happy with, but this is as good as it gets this time. Good formula, opcaity and drying-time just like the two above. Three coats.

Do you have any favourite?

  1. I love this type of finish, but even with ridge filler base coats, they show my ridges.
    Posh is absolutely stunning!
