Deep glow

Have I ever told you how much I love glow-in-the-dark-polishes? I own two - a green and a orange one, which I got from my friend Amanda for my birthday last year. I actually showed the green one over white in my third post on this blog, in Octber 2014. Some weeks ago she lent me her blue version of the same laquer, and here you can see what I did with it!

Ever since I saw Kristy's pond mani (link) on Instagram, I've wanted to try out the same thing. The glow-in-the-dark-polishes are the only jelly polishes that I own, so I hadn't much alternatives to which polishes to use this time, but they looked amazing in the dark so it was no disadvantage! Unfortunately I totally forgot to take some pictures of them in the dark, when I had the right lightning conditions, and now they are too worn to show, hehe. So just the day light photos this time!

The technique used here is super simple. I started out with a thin layer of the blue jelly polish, let it dry and then places white dots random all over the nails. Repeated two times, I got three layers of blue and three different shades of the white/now blue dots, since they got darker the more blue polish they got covered by, giving the nail a depth and 3D look. I really love this design and will definitely try something similar in the future.
